Philadelphia Freelance Writer and Editor

About Me

I am a writer and an editor; I can't imagine doing anything else. Actually, I don't know how to do anything else. Fortunately for me, I love the process of finding good stories and interesting angles, or simply finding a better way of expressing an idea or organizing a narrative.  I love learning about new things and covering a wide range of topics, from nuptials to nuclear waste.

I'm from the Princeton, N.J., area but I've lived most of my adult life in southeastern Pennsylvania.  I earned a BA in English/History from Albright College, then doubled down on the liberal arts education with a master's in Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.

My first job out of college was at a small weekly newspaper in West Windsor, N.J., where I covered municipal meetings, breaking news, features, took photos, and occasionally helped with the layout. Basically, I did everything but deliver the paper.

Then I worked as a feature writer at The Intelligencer/Record in Doylestown, Pa., a staff writer at Human Resource Executive Magazine in Horsham, Pa., and a line editor at Metro, a free daily newspaper in Philadelphia. I wrote legal newsletters for Mealey Publications, a division of LexisNexis, for more than 11 years.

I've freelanced on the side since college and launched my own writing and editing business in 2007.

These days, I contribute regularly to,
Philadelphia SmartCEO Magazine, and Other publications I've written for include AAA World Magazine, The Albright Reporter, The City Paper, Delaware Bride, Grid Magazine, Haverford Magazine, Main Line Today, Penn Arts & Sciences Magazine, The Pennsylvania Gazette, The Temple Review, Wharton Magazine, and University Business Magazine

I've also written for corporations and other organizations, including annual report copy for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, web copy for Campbell Soup Co., newsletter articles and press releases for Seashore Gardens Living Center, and articles for HB Litigation Conferences.

When I'm not working, I read, garden, travel, and spend time with family and friends. I also volunteer for an animal rescue group.

But enough about me, what can I do for you?
